Establish your Foundation: Surgical Extractions with Simultaneous Bone Grafting & No More Crowning Around: Mastering Crown Lengthening

In the morning…

Establish your Foundation: Surgical Extractions with Simultaneous Bone Grafting

Understanding the transformation an extraction site undergoes upon removal of a tooth is essential for advancing your restorative outcomes. This course will provide a foundation in understanding how to surgically remove teeth atraumatically to minimize bone loss while learning the vital role biomaterials play in your future implant and/or prosthetic therapy.

Course Objectives:

  • Establish an atraumatic technique for surgical extractions
  • Understand how to counter the significant functional and esthetic challenges tooth removal creates
  • Know when to utilize specific bone and membrane materials to maximize results

In the afternoon…

No More Crowning Around: Mastering Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening is considered a periodontal procedure most general dentists feel comfortable performing, yet among periodontal specialists is regarded as one of the most difficult. This course reviews in detail all aspects of functional and esthetic crown lengthening and demonstrates through literature and clinical cases why this surgical procedure warrants far more discussion when under consideration. This course is easily adapted into Part I and Part II for even more content!

Course Objectives:

  • Understand clinical and diagnostic criteria necessary for crown lengthening cases
  • Review surgical steps and instrumentation for functional and esthetic cases and the myth of the biological width
  • Learn why and when to avoid crown lengthening for treatment

Audience: Dentists, Assistants
