Job Summary: The Dental Hygienist will greet, seat, and review patient’s medical and dental information, as well as provide explanation of treatment and procedures, document all patient activity, and perform clinical procedures, such as prophylaxis cleaning, scaling, polishing, fluoride treatments, sealant application, and dental x-rays. The Dental Hygienist will also be responsible for decontamination and sterilization of instruments and treatment rooms, and for providing patient information on proper oral hygiene. If certified, will administer local anesthesia during periodontal scaling and root planing and also administer and monitor nitrous oxide during dental hygiene treatment to assist with patient anxiety. Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality, provide excellent customer service, and communicate effectively with staff and other health care providers.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree from an approved Dental Hygiene Program and current NYS license/registration as a Dental Hygienist with 2 years of dental hygiene work experience required. Certification in CPR/Basic Life Support required by time of appointment.
Work Days: Variable days and shifts of mutual agreement.
